more good links restoring shift knobs

i havent tried it yet but i am going to it makes total sence to me. since the manual shift knobs are bakelite and wood products (sawdust). i was goign to try it myself. but i couldn't find any boot polish. i may also try to groove the lines and number deeper so i can repaint those too.

i used the steel wool and boot polish on the one i had sitting here in the house it is turing out pretty good so far. i am not much of a steady hand when it comes to repainting the numbers though. i cant use the paint over and wipe method. the numbers arent deep enough for that.

What's that shifter from? Nice to be able to go from 1st to reverse like that. Just be careful with the 1 to 2 shift!

i took it off a f600 because it was loose. or i wouldnt have bothered with it. i just wanted to see if i could restore one. so far i am unhappy abotu my steady hand and painting detail skills. so i havent went any further.
