stuck choke cable
i have a choke type cable from a older truck. is is rusted stuck. i have been spraying pb blaster down from the top of it so it would run down into the cable while i have it hanging up. but nothing much seems to be happening. the cable has a rubber coating on the outside so i really can put any heat to it. any other sugjestions?

Re: stuck choke cable
I would try curling it up in an old coffee can filled with gas or diesel and let it soak.

Exactly what I was going to say. For some reason gas works better for me than diesel.

Re: stuck choke cable
it has a rubber coating. i dont think it would work very well. but it could seep through from both ends i guess. i might try that.

Re: stuck choke cable
It should work fordman. I freed up a parking brake cable of similar coated design by rigging it where it hung in a U shape and applied PB to both ends several times a day and tried to move the cable from both ends at each dosing a couple of times......it eventually caved in to my will and finances.

Hey Fordman let me check when I get home. I think I have a new choke cable from LMC you can have.
