New addtion to 72 F100 interior
Well, I pulled the trigger and purchased a dakota digital gauge cluster for my 72...I can't tell you how much of a difference this makes to the all out cool factor for the truck...Not to mention it will measure 0-60, 1/4 et and MPH and top MPH..WILD!! I have attached a couple of pictures...the install was not that difficult either...enjoy!! Also got a new woodgrain bezel and lens for Christmas....

Is the fuel gauge configured to use the stock sending unit? I'm asking 'cause it looks like your fuel gauge is reading '67 gallons'. (or is that supposed to be 6.7 gallons?)
It's looking good! I like it...and the whole truck in general. Nice stance.

I wondered about that, too, when I first looked at it.FORDification wrote:Is the fuel gauge configured to use the stock sending unit? I'm asking 'cause it looks like your fuel gauge is reading '67 gallons'. (or is that supposed to be 6.7 gallons?)
My guess would be that's 67%.

Yes, that is correct...you can select pretty much any sending unit you want for the setup when you turn it on...you go through some setup screens with it and all you have to do is select the proper sending unit that you have...very cool setup...and yes, it is 67%
Thanks guys!!

Those gauges look great, nice that your still using the original bezel as well it really looks good . They definitely look and probably work better than my non-working gauges , how much did they run you?

I like it. I wish I had another truck to build up into a hot rod. The digital gauges would be the first order of buisness on the interior.

These were 620.00, however I could make you a great deal on the working cluster I pulled from the truck...Caseys71 wrote:Those gauges look great, nice that your still using the original bezel as well it really looks good . Re: New addtion to 72 F100 interior
Wait... that cluster is nice and all but seems it will be way too depressing. I have found that the stock fuel gauges are built by Ford to be innacurate, and have a small sweep so they barely need to move... making it nice not being able to see your fuel gauge drop while driving . However, when you have an accurate, modern percentage gauge, you will see that thing drop a percent or two every second... which will be very depressing
I'll stick with my no gas gauge... it seems to help not being able to see my needle drop
But really that thing is way nice

I found it, but extremely expensive. Did it hook right up?

Re: New addtion to 72 F100 interior
Speaking of fuel gauges, why does mine read 3/4 full when I fill it up and then goes to full after I drive it around for awhile?
Re: New addtion to 72 F100 interior
Sometimes there is air in the tank that compress it down. Faulty sending unit, many things could be wrong. Does yours have a emissions port?
