Small light bulb under dash

I have been going through the interior of a 70' Ranger XLT CS and found that someone had spliced into a small pigtail with a bulb on the end. It is in a metal housing that looks like it clamped or clipped into somewere. It is not from the instrument cluster but doesn't appear to be able to reach much more than the around the cluster. Maybe a courtesy light? Any ideas. Thanks,

Sounds like the heater control lamp. Your heater control should light up when you have your parking/head lamps turned on.

Yeah the heater controls or the radio.

what side of the inst. cluster? could it be the brake warning light?

Could it be for the cargo light switch? I noticed that this was for a CS and remember someone posting a pic of their cargo light being illuminated.

it could most likly be the brake light switch. i forgot abotu that. the cargo light bulb sits in the end of the switch. it wouldn't be that unless the whole switch was hanging down.

Thanks for all of the replies. I'll check the brake indicator and cig lighter. It won't reach the heater or radio. Thanks again for the help.

left side is the brake light right side would be the lighter then if it isnt the heater. the radio light would come down that far i dont think.
