A/C fan problem

Post by fireguywtc »

My 70 with A/C only works one speed for the Fan, High. Before I pull the whole unit out for repair I want to make sure I am on the right track. I did some searching and it looks like it is most likely the switch that is the culprit. Then fan works on high, though noisy, and I put a resistor in from a spare unit I have and it didn't change. Both resistors appear to be fine but I though I would try the simple fix first. It has a 3 speed fan, when I move the switch from high to med, it sould like it runs for a second or two then dies out, never does anything in low. Thanks for the help

Switch can be tested by running a hot jumper to a resistor terminal on the heater and seeing if it runs at a lower speed.
