HELP

Post by 89ford »

ok I know that this truck is newer but my 1989 f-250 with a 351w has a problem it just cranks and acts like the battery is dead but my charger shows 75% and I have replaced the alternator and starter solenoid within the last 3 months I just put new battery cable ends on it and it jumped but i shut it off to try again with jumper cables still on and now it cranks but no start again what could this be? I need it to drive to school tomorrow or as soon as possible

[quote="89ford"]351w has a problem it just cranks and acts like the battery is dead ...

just curious, how can the engine "crank" when the battery is actin glike its dead? i.e., battery dead=no cranking

*edit > take a multimeter and get a read on how many volts your battery has in it. anything less than 12 won't crank the engine over. 11.8volts isn't even enough sometimes.
