Does anybody have a factory installed and good shape glove box insert? I'd love to see photos of it if you do. As with most bumps my glove box was wasted (why did Ford use Cardboard?!) so I got an LMC repop and put it in. It might just be because it's poor quality (probably) but I also may have installed it incorrect as I couldn't really refer to the existing one (it was that wasted!).
Thanks
PS - Bonus points if it's a non-AC box

I'm not sure if these photos will help you or not, since my glove box isn't installed at the moment. It's a NOS part I bought from the Ford dealer around 1997, and it's a non-AC box.
And here it is, from every angle. Note that you can click on any of these to load high resolution versions:
I wish you good fortune with your glove box GSequoia!

My truck still has its orginal glove box. It is a Non AC Truck. I am not sure when I might get a picture of it as the truck is under about 2 feet of snow.

No doubt.
I might make one out of sheetmetal for my own use one day for both the truck and my Mustang.

Here is one I made out of an old Avon box my mom had laying around. I just cut it up taped it together and used her stapler to hold it together but it didnt last long. I also shot a coat of flat black paint inside when I was painting my dash so that the cardboard brown didnt show. It lasted about a year and half. If I had bigger staples it would have worked perfect.

I used to have some pictures (that I can't seem to find right now) of someone who removed the staples from the stock glovebox insert so it laid it flat, and then using it as a template, cut one out from thin-gauge steel. He then bent it as needed and pop-riveted it back together. VERY sturdy! I'll keep looking for those pics.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking although with some felt, fabric, or adhesive rubber overlaid on the inside to keep things from sliding around too much.

I "had" an original box in my truck, it still had the original owner's manual! Anyway, I pulled it out twice and the third time it ripped when I was disconnecting the emergency flasher switch! So I took it and flattened it out and made one from .040 Aluminum. It wasn't easy!
However, it came out great and is solid too! Now I can lock my "piece" in there and not worry. I'll still worry...
Thanks to FORDMAN. I got my pics from my cell phone...
Made from the original pressed-board that I flattened out and traced onto .040 Aluminum. There were some impossible bends, but I made it work. The left rear corner was the hardest part, but it is sealed tight and "sprung" into place.
I didnt realize the box was cardboard. I'm so glad everything is in good shape. I may have to pull that one out and have a metal one made to replace it just for my own peace of mind at some point.
If anyone needs pics of a particular something or other as it was in 1968 lemme know.
That would be great RobRoy... That took almost 3 1/2 hours to make and it wasn't pleasant! At my going rate that would be $437.50 ea! Nobody would pay that!
I am thinking about having one made out of 1/8" aluminum as an in-dash vault Having it all welded as plate instead of bends... Now I'm thinking! It will go along with my under-dash "Don't Touch My Wires" and "Hidden Accessory Port/Switch" panels.
