dash cluster ground
So i tried to fix that dash cluster ground, but it didnt work. The hole is good and the screw, i sanded the paint to metal still nothing. The wiring looks good and like it came straight out of the factory. I guess I will try the engine ground strap next, any other ideas?
Re: dash cluster ground
A couple things, could i just run a strap from the block to the frame thats all i need? And i found a bluewire with red stripe off the light switch could I essentially hook my tach and stuff to that and it would work without the ground working? Or does that specific one also work off the ground? My headlights work. But maybe check the wire coming from the fuse box?

the strap has to go ot the firewall from the engine. the frame strap is just to help the radiator not rot out. it wont really help with the electrical problem your having.
Re: dash cluster ground
Heres what i did I got a 4gauge batter terminal ground strap and used that to make my block ground strap. I used a washer and bolted it to the intake, than bolted the other end to the fire wall. Checked all my wires, and the problem turned out to be the bulbs. Although they werent broken the insides were rusted and corroded. I put new ones in, but they didnt work. But what it was the outer housing of the bulb grounds to the cluster, i put a little bulb grease on that and bam now all my lights work.

Re: dash cluster ground
that sounds right what you did with the ground strap from the intake to the firewall. that is how i have seen them on all the fe's that is strange about the grease on the bulbs making them work. but atleast it works.
