Re: alternator wiring
i see. there are two ways to wire up the alternator for our trucks. one is for a gauge cluster in the dash. or for the half lights half gauges. the wiring diagrams are here if you neeed to see them. some of them are for dash lights and some are for gauges instead of lights. what year is your truck? do you have all gauges or half gauges and half lights? http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_h.htm

Re: alternator wiring
this is the diagram of how it should have been rewired. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... gauges.jpg
unless you didnt change the wiring around then it could be the alternator or a bad battery. you can take both to the parts stores to have them cheked to be sure they are good. or it may have a short in the wiring someplace and it is drawing the battery down.

Re: alternator wiring
I'd like to completly re-wire all of the wiring between my alternator, voltage regulator and starter motor relay. Does anyone make a specific wiring harness for this application?
I'd build my own harness but where does one find the plugs and connectors that aren't in most auto parts stores. Does LMC or DC sell them?

Re: alternator wiring
Also as I said somewhere else our ignition switches had a recall because they would get flaky when shut off and burn up the wiring harness or just drain the battery
