f500 cluster ?
I just bought a f500 instrument cluster off ebay and want to know if there is any reason it would not fit in my 67' f250
the ad says 68-72 but according to your section on cluster differences 67 and 68 are the same. is that true?

Re: f500 cluster ?
Thank you for the insight. As far as the vacuum gauges that came on most of these clusters (this one never had one) is there any use for it on my model truck? I figured they were used for the air brake system in the larger trucks but on mine could is be used to monitor engine vacuum and if so is there any pluses to keeping an eye on that? What are other guys putting in these clusters?
On my second 67' f250 first one was killed by a red light runner two years ago.

Re: f500 cluster ?
the vacuum gauges are for watching the engine vacuum. there are seperate gauges for air brake tank pressure.

Re: f500 cluster ?
Thank you for the correction on the brake mistake. Do you see them come up for sale often? Just the gauge I mean and the install where does it hook up to. its just a hose right?

Re: f500 cluster ?
Dang, I've been looking for a F600 vacuum gauge. It'd be cool to have a working vacuum gauge in my panel.
Guess I'll keep on lookin.

Re: f500 cluster ?
Thank you for all the great input on the vacuum gauge. I am still looking for one that matches the other gauges ( just a black face with white numbers) I saw one on ebay but didn't get back on line to bid in time it went for just over $13 what a steal. Does anyone know the OD of the gauges that came in these larger trucks? I found one that looks very similar the part number is: F3HZ-17360-A the seller says its OD of the bezel surrounding the face is 3 3/4" it's not listed on the parts page of this site. It's an electronic tach and was wondering if it would be easier to use it rather than the cable driven tachs that came in the trucks. I think I even read somewhere on here that a cable driven tach can not be hooked up to our trucks since most of the trans. are not made to accommodate one. What does anyone know about that? Any info would be helpful.
