C6 Trans "guts" swap - SB C6 to BB C6

Post by bwc302 »

Will the gut's of a small block C6 interchange with a big block C6? Is the case the only difference?

Hmmm....good question. I have no idea. Why not ask the transmission guys at the Ford Tranny Talk messageboard. They'll be able to answer your questions, I'm sure.

I posed the question on the other board and received response that yes they will swap. Thought I would share what I was told.

Additional information I received was to make sure to

Count the number of teeth for the speedometer gear cut into the output shaft. because of the difference is in the speedometer readings if they are not the same

If the tooth count is even 1 off it will greatly affect your speedometer.
You will never be able to calibrate it.

Thanks,

Bobby

I know the torque converters are different and won't swap. I don't know about the tranny guts.
