Dash Pad Cleaning and Care

Hi all. I have a dash pad that is in pretty good shape but it has some stains and inconsistencies in the color throughout. Is there a recommended product for cleaning and restoring the dash pad. It's black. I bought some black vinyl paint but I only want to use this as a last resort.

I would use any good cleaner then a vinyl dressing .

I had a real bad pad once and used some goop made for black rubber bumpers.
It actually brought the color back but it was kinda slimy for awhile.

But if you use any dressing it can cause problems if you decide to paint it later.

I just ended up washing with dish soap and using the vinyl paint. Looks pretty good!
