Removable Dash...

Post by drpark »

I have seen some discussions on removing dashes but no info on installing them. So my question is this, has anyone made their dash removable? If so:
How did you attach it?
Does it squeak when you drive?
What would you do different?
Would you do it again?

Thanks in advance for your input.

our trucks werent made for the dahs to be removed. we know that much. how to remove one completely requires the spot welds to be drilled out and the windshield seam and that is a mess. even if you arent trying to save the cab you cut the dash out of. to make a dash removeable and be able to put it back on you would have to do it similar to the dentside trucks. you would first cut the dash at a point where you would like to have a seem in it. then you would need soem extra dash metal to make a lip that would go over or under the part still left on the truck. with use of a few screws in easy to get to places you could then rejoin the dash. the sides would also have to have soem sort of screws to hold them from movign around. would i ever do this. no. there is no reason i can see to have it removeable. i can easily enough work around behind the dash.
