I found a couple things while searching a back woods bone yard for a delay wiper set-up. I would like some opinions on these items.
First is $35 a fair price for the 600 panel?
Would the tach from the older 600 panel fit in the newer one?
What about this ac unit, are there parts available to resurrect something like this?
35.0 is great for it. steel wool will clean it right up. the a/c is probably fine. i bet the compressor gave out. is all that may be wrong with it if anything.
What do you think the AC unit would be worth? The motor is gone on that truck so there is no compressor or lines that I could see, and the plastic housing is cracked on the left side by the AC glove box.
If the AC box is cracked skip it. Though you may want to take some stuff of the box like the vents or whatever. If the AC has all the insides you may want to get that too incase someone wants the stuff. Evaporators are not easy to come by.

Yes, that tach is not an old stock Ford one, it is an SW as noted and it is an 8K (old trucks were usually about 4K). It is a desirable piece (see what these two sold for! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0653413698 and this really clean and complete one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0522523464) and there is no way I would have left the yard without it! Be sure to follow the wires and disconnect them, don't cut them and look for an adapter (they do not all have them). Grab the dash panel from the other truck and when you pull it also cut about 6 inches of wire on the dash wiring so you will have pigtails for a jumper if it has the wrong plug for your application (they are never the one I need! LOL). The AC is only good for parts because the plastic box is what is bad on all of them and you won't find a replacement without buying another entire unit. I wouldn't give more than $10 for it for that reason. Hawkrod

Thanks alot for all the info. I am going to the tach when I get to the yard, I'm planning on doing it today but I want to make sure I have all the tools needed. If you look at my thread in the general section you will see what I'm talking about. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =2&t=52839

! $500 for a tach? I paid that much for my truck in the first place when it was all said and done . Either way though it is a neat looking tach, and it would look right at home in a 40 year old bump .

You should see all the old Army trucks at work that have those SW tachs. SW was & still is a major supplier of instruments for military applications.
I bet the garage has 10-20 of them on the shelf, NOS still in the box.
