switch wire getting hot

Post by boyle05 »

the large pink wire from the ignition switch is getting hot. a new column was wired in when i got the truck. i have put a new switch as it was cracked. starts right up and runs smooth, everything is working but was concerned about that wire getting hot. i had to change out the ign. pigtail - it was actually melted when i got the truck. not sure if this is same issue or another- pull hazard on dash and get nothing turn either signal on r or l and get hazards. signals work as should with hazard swith in. thanks for any help.

That pink wire is the resistor wire to the coil and it is normal for it to get hot.

the switch is prbably dirty inside. you can take them apart and clean them up.
