I'm wondering if I Can take a dash out of a 600 and put it in my 250. The 600 that I got my panel from has an all steel dash that looks like showroom and my dash has cracks. The 600's dash looks identical to mine (minus the soft top) and I think it would look really good in my truck, is there anything I should look for that might cause me troubles?
Are you talking about the complete steel dash or just the instrument panel that's mounted into the dash? The steel dash is welded in and can't be removed (without a LOT of work).

If I understand the question right, the answer is you need to just pull your cracked dash pad out. Underneath it will be the same metal dash as the 600. Just be careful when pulling the dash pad so you don't scratch the nice paint underneath.
Ok, so if I just take my pad off I'll be set? Would'nt there be holes where the pad mounts? And yes, I was talking about the entire steel dash, the whole enchilada.
Thanks for all the replies.

the stell dahs is welded in. under the lip of the windshield rubber. the dash pad unbolts from the steel dash with 14 bolts. the F600 dash looks the same as our dash. im unsure why you would want to change it. unless you are talking about a older F600 dash. then that may not fit because of the curve of the windshield.

Thanks, I did'nt realize that it was the same under the pad. I thought the all steel look was pretty sweet and I got a pair of old Bronco buckets that I think would look good with the steel.

Guys, your killing me here. He wants to put an F600 dash in because he found one without a pad. Many big trucks did not have dash pads (and a few rare small trucks did not have pads either, I used to have a government DSO 1967 F350 without a pad) and so the metal is not drilled to mount one. Unfortunately, the final answer is no, it won't work. The metal dash is not the same in an F600 as in a F100-F350. The lower dash is completely different because the area for the steering column mount is flat instead of having a recess for the column and even if it were the same it is a major project because they are welded in (a lot of welds at that!) but they do look very nice without a pad . Hawkrod, you hit the nail on the head, thank you. Also thanks for the link flyboy71, that's pretty freakin cool what you're doing there. Maybe I'll pull my pad and see how it looks. Thanks again to everyone.
