Alternator Wiring Question

Post by McDays »

I got 71 F100, 302 AT C6. I'm with battery drain problem. After checking everything I figured out the alternator wires: Orange = Bat; Black/Red = Ground. But I still have one wire that I couldn't find where it should go after looking at the diagram. It is YELLOW/BLACK stripe. And in the voltage regulator I have one lose wire. It's: YELLOW/GREEN stripe. Any help will be apreciated. Thanks.

i cant see the colors you are talking about. and the colors i do see are hooked up wrong from your description. it would be better if you could post a picture of what you have going on. i could help easier. the largest wire is going to be the power or batt wire. orange is usually a small wire. black /w red is usually power large wire or black /w yellow.
