window cranks

Is it possible to refurbish window crank mechanisims? Mine wobble all over and scrape against the panel.

yes and no. the gears wear out and dont mesh sometimes. also the holes that hold the gears wear out too. you can drill out the place where the one gear is held on at and possible put a new gear in there. or MAYBE rebuild. i don't know i havent tried. i threw away the one i was going to take apart and mess with.

New Window Regulators are available from Dennis Carpenter. You'll find them on page 81 of their Catalog. $100.00 for "Original Tooling" (think OEM Ford) or $50.00 for Chinese made. 67 Trucks are different from 68 through 72 so keep that in mind IF you decide to order them. Mine are in the same condition as yours and I can't afford to replace them now so it's spray some WD40 on them time when the regulators get an attitude.

Or the regulators are available from me for $30 a set plus ship.

I was lucky enough to catch some NOS regulators on ebay. :thup:

I think I paid somewhere around $20 plus shipping for each of them. :eek:

thanks everyone i think even though my truck is a 67 i think it has 68 doors as it has the armrest and the grip handle as opposed to the lever type opener.
