67 mirror in a 71 ?

Post by wildcard »

Is it possible to mount a 67 rearview mirror in a 71 ? And will the visors hook into it as they do in the 67 ? Just wondering as I may pick one up in a couple weeks if it's still there. Or sell it if it won't work.

it might work. i wouldnt see any problems. i knwo the viosrs are the same length. but the 70-72 visors are just cut differently. i think it will botl in place or close to the same place as the old visor clip.

If you go to the tech tutorials about identifying the 67-72 trucks, there is a nice section about the 67 mirror and sunvisors. http://www.fordification.com/tech/67-72ID_01.htm Looks like your set up should work.

I did it to my '71 after I using just about every adhesive on the market to make my mirror stick without success. Then the wife found a '67 mirror in the junkyard. All I did was get some self-tapping screws and it went right in with no issues since. I had to bend the visors down a bit to make them sit in the mirror bracket.
