Anti Rattle Kit
From what I am finding out the Anti Rattle Kit is different for a 67-70 and 71-72 I know the doors on my 70 have been changed. Can anyone tell me what the differance is so I will know want to look for. I know my 71 has origional doors and just looking I haven't seen any differance but they I don't know what I am looking for. Thanks for any help.

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
The earlier version of anti-rattle kits used felt (fuzzy), and the later versions were rubber.

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
I know someone that tryed to put rubber in place of the fuzzies, Said after 4 hours of fighting to get the anti rattles in and bending them up and cutting thier hands they should have just got the right ones. From what they said it looks like they will fit but the slots are off a little and just dont want to fit in without a fight.

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
yes there are two differences in 67-70 doors vs 71 72 doors. when you are buying the anit rattle kit. it is the difference in the hole for the wiper fuzzies or wipers. the size and postion of the holes that holder them onto the outer door.
other differences are that the interior of the door for the 71/72 doors have extra holes to attach the full cardboard type of door panels. where the 67-70 doors dont have those holes.
then the last door difference is the 67 interior door is completely different in where the door handles and arm rest mount. compared to the 68-72 doors.

Buy the right ones. Don't try putting the nicer rubber seal ones in an older door. I tried and turns out i wasted a lot of money.
The holes for the clips are no where near in the right place. i tried cutting mine and jb-welding them back on and it failed miserably, now i have no window seals at all right now.

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
Can you guys tell me what kind of access/work this requires to do. My outside ones are all screwed up and I was thinking about changing them but wasn't sure how far I would have to tear the door down to do it.
Thanks
Kris

in my opinion. the glass needs to come out to put the wipers / fuzzies in.

I put mine in with windows in. Just roll window down all the way and you should have plenty of room. Just be careful when pulling old ones off if you don't want to chip or scratch the paint. I used a nylon pry tool to get the clips started coming up,so I could get a good grip on the old one as I pulled them up.

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
I did mine with the windows in also. You need the right year for your doors. You also need to make sure your doors are the right year for your truck

I know my 71 is all original so I can compare it to the 70, I know they have been changed on it but I don’t know what model they are. I am in the process of rebuilding the truck so it will all be stripped for painting, so all the glass will be coming out. I sure appreciate everybody’s input it should make things go a lot smother.

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
I love in that article the second to last picture where it's telling you to do something using an appropriate tool and they're using a pair of channel locks as a driving block. Makes me feel better when I do something like that if the pros are doing it that way. Thanks for all the info, looks like one of those things that is possible to do with the glass still in there but easier if it's not.
Thanks

Re: Anti Rattle Kit
How much differant does the felt and the wipers look? The drivers door I am using is a 70 and the pass door is a 72? Also can I use the 67 wing window with these doors?
