dashpad crack repair

Post by Lowered IQ »

Does anybody have a way to keep this from getting worse? If everything is lined up correctly the crack isn`t even noticable. I had to push up from the bottom a little to expose the crack for the picture. I was thinking about bracing from the bottomside somehow. To me this pad is worth saving,it is soft, it just looks like it got hit here. It`s cleaning up well as you can see in pic.#2

they do have those vinyl repair kits. i do not really have the patiecnce to mess with the kits. basically you fill the crack with the filler stuff. which makes it level. then you put more stuff on it with the design stamper thing. and heat the end so the stamper warms up and gives the correct design to match the dash. or what your working on. in my opinion. you may be able to fix this. and soften up the dash with baby oil or other product. but it may not last a long time.
