I'll post the final results once I get my speakers and everything mounted. Hopefully she don't rattle.

You have to stretch the vinyl, I really needed to even stretch mine more. The store I went to had 4-5 different grades of vinyl, just make sure you get the kind that can stretch. I used foam from a craft store, you can get the pages for about a buck and a half, to cut out the letters. A good tip is the bigger (not thicker) the letters the easier it is.

Yeah. I just found a font I liked that wasn't too fancy. The ford emblem would be tough cause of the writing. The foam I got at Joann Fabrics. It is called Foamies and is 3mm thick.

I went down to a stereo installation place and asked for some tips. The installers do this all the time with speaker boxes and they were very helpful.

I used DAP contact cement to attach the vinyl to the wood.

What did you do about the mounting clips? I've been looking at doing this same thing.

That is the question. Right now I don't have any clips on it. I do have holes in the wood that match up with holes in the door and I was going to use dry wall anchors in the door holes then screws through the wood. I put foam weather stripping behind the wood in places to make sure I didn't get rattles and once I hung it to check fit I found it is on pretty tight with out putting the screws in (fingers crossed). I'll run it like that for a little bit to see if I can get away with out using any clips.
