Hey everyone,
Just a quick question, are 73-79 F100 seats a different shape to 67-72's? why I ask is I've put a 75 model seat in my 70 and the driving position is really odd, I can't get good vision coz my head is too high and it's not like I'm a giant, I'm only 6 foot.. so are the bottom cushions on 75 bench's higher? I can't compare it myself because the p/o had custom bucket seats in it..
Thanks

In a quick read on the tech article on this site, you might need the seat brackets that are for your year truck and modify them to fit your new seat to get the correct seat height.
the dentsides seat brackets are the same . the only thing i have noticed about the seat brackets is that the mounting studs to bolt them to the seat are longer. like some of the mustang seat brackets had longer studs in them. it could be that the seat has more stuffing in it. depending on what style of seat maybe. ranger custom cab standard cab. a super cab seat may be like that. also one thing to check is that the seat back tilts or if it is solid. a solid seat will sometimes make you feel like you are sitting more upright than a tilt back seat would. something else that may or may not be part of it. is that i read in the ranger class trucks of our era. that the seats backs were better. i read that in the salesman brochure. 68 and 69
I put one in my truck and noticed the same thing, I just figured my old seat was all broke down and the 75 or 76 was much nicer and not as worn down. Now I sit real high and it has a lot of bounce to it.
"FoPar" because I love Fords and Mopars so just call me FoPar...
Drive it as much as you possibly can to break it in for your azz!
I just replaced my super soft and bouncy '69 seat with one from an '89. I removed the '89's track and installed the one from the '69 and it bolted right in. I do sit a little higher and the seat is firmer but I like sitting as high as possible in my vehicles (I'm 6'-1" btw).
