heater core

i did not know where to put this thread but i removed the heater/motor underneath the dash. i see the system has a few bolts and i see their are rivets.do i remove the rivets to install the new heater core and rivet the box once again?

To replace the core the box has to be removed from the vehicle. There are a few nuts accessible from the engine compartment that holds the box in. Remove the box, then you can remove the bolts from the box to get the core out. You do not need to drill out any rivets. Make sure you mark which cable goes where before you start.

I've slept since then ha-ha, but it seemed like I did have to drill two rivets to get here:

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!
