What are you looking for as far as traction? How are you going to drive the truck?
Here is a website that has some good info about traction devises.

Well I just am going to be around town but I son't want to get stuck in the winter, and I thought that it might help me get out from a green light on a slight hill. I get stuck on a slight hill now in just the rain.

re: Posi. Traction?
I have the factory traklock limited slip dif in my 9" I have not had any probs with it and is very street friendly. I am going to part with it for a detroit locker because my rig sees very little pavement these days. I have had a 69' and a 66' that I put the Auburn limited slip in and they were very street friendly and gave me the umph I needed in low traction situations.

OK the real problem sounds like you do not have enuff weight in the back end of your truck. Yes changing the rear gears will help but to get the quickest results but a hundred or 2 hundred pounds in the bed of your truck, And that will give you better tractionin dry wet icy or snow. In snow and ice you should lower the PSI in your tires (with the weight over your drive tires) to get the best traction.
Looking for my wife chickachickabowwow, I am reading that she is saying my truck is hers. LOL I LOVE YOU HUN.
