The wife and kids have declared that my bump is not the truck of choice for them due to the incredibly cold seats in the mornings and the lack of F.M. stereo! I will not be forced to drive my perfectly good 2001 f150 xlt if I don't have to! so I went online and found some heated seat pads and wiring harness. On Saturday I peeled back my upholstery and installed these little electric blankets, then ran the harness under the carpet. it comes with a relay so it had a constant power lead, a power from the ignition to trip the relay and a lead from the lights to power up the switch so you can see it at night. It all took about an hour and now the wife and kids can tolerate the old truck. I know I am risking my manliness posting this, but I really have to say that heated seats are great! They still have to listen to the oldies station

Thats cool!! Lots of conveniences coming to my ol Rustbucket too. Map lights and new buckets. power antenna. Dont hurt to put some nice goodies in the ol trucks!
Heat on the rear is always nice I had to install them in our f150 for the wife. Leather with no heat was too cold for her, should have never bought that expedition for her. They were easy to install and work great.
I say wire a swtich to the passenger heater out of their reach. Any bad word from them about the truck, off it goes. Claim truck must've heard them! Only sincere apologies will restore heat.

I do have separate switches and I might try that, but the youngest is 13! I don't think it will work.
