Paying it forward

Post by hotrod69 »

I recently came across a site where a bunch of enthusiasts list parts for free. The whole concept came about by listing items they had laying around, and whoever got the item, would pay it forward by listing something of theirs for free. I read 20 plus pages of this and was in awe at the kindness and respect these people had for one another. In my eyes, whether you are restoring, modifying or downright re-inventing your ride, we are all in the same culture and love it for the same reason. That being said I have a few items I would like to start the chain with:

Rear eight lug rims off of my 1969 f-250 Camper Special. These are pretty wide and appear factory
C-6 inspection cover, really nice shape
One drivers side front fender from my 1969 f-250, seems like it has a little bondo, but overall in good shape.

Anyone interested let me know. Lets start this chain and help out one another.

I'd be interested in the 'wide' rear wheels. Can you get an actual measurement and/or picture so I can verify if they are what i'm looking for?

Great idea on the paying it forward and I'd certainly try to keep that chain going!

Thanks

Snake, I know the tires say 12.5x16, if you look under project updates under my profile, the rims are on the truck. I will snap a pic tomorrow and get an actual measurement for ya. I hope to see this idea take off, we could all benefit by giving!!!!

I think this is a great idea hotrod. I'd be glad to contribute to the list as well. Off a '71 I have the following pieces:

1. OE Arm rests - parchment, with some discoloration.
2. Left side grill insert.
3. 4 trim bars that go across the center of the grill inserts.
4. 2 highlight bezels, one has a minor dent in a corner and paint could use some refreshing - Bezels are gone.
5. Hood ornaments needing black paint touchup.

Anybody have a cig lighter they would be willing to part with?

Here's a couple more items, I'll add more as I find/think of them:

1971 grille surround - has a couple spots of minor damage so it's not for a show truck but could be used for a daily driver/work truck. Can send pics if interested. Kind of large and expensive to ship so local pickup only (Cedar Rapids, IA area)

T-18 four speed with bellhousing (6 cly) and clutch arm. Worked fine when pulled from '68 F250 with sixty some thousand miles showing on the odometer that I believe to be actual but have no proof. Again, local pickup only.

Ranger dash trim strips and clips from a '69. Not sure what other years had these. Shipping should be very minimal on these so if you chip in here I'll even pay the shipping (continental 48 only)
