Guage cluster......So Far

Post by 67mann »

This is the cluster I've been working on

Got the download art from here and had my Brother in law scan it in and make the clock face
I've had enough and I'm not alone

Where did you get that clock from? I have the same panel and am looking for a clock. Your panel looks really good , I like it.

Are you going to do clock numbers to match the other gauges? Hands painted orange? Alter the color of numbers & ticks to match the other gauges? Just curious.

It came from Klockkit.com http://www.klockit.com/products/dept-74__sku-AAANN.html

The clock was 12$ and isn't an automotive clock.....so it may just be a mock up "so to speak" . Still on the lookout for a real automotive clock and then I'll think about the orange Hands & better matching #s

Ok if it was $12 that settles it. That clock must become a permanent part of your truck! I like the looks of the cluster with exception being having to relearn locations. I think for the most part we are trained that the speedo is in the center. Given natural reading patterns (left to right) in order of importance the tach would be on the right and clock on the left. I have been thinking quite a bit about gauge grouping since I will be modifying the cluster in mine. I think on the left side I will be doing fuel then amps (or volts). On the right I will go oil then temp. Just me & how I am planning mine. Of course that is subject to change at a moments whim.

I like the new gauges in your layout. So many want to try to convert the mechanical tach over. When do we get to see this cluster in the truck? :pop: :yip:

I'd tend to agree but I understand why the layout is as it is given the size of the gauges involved. have you seen the autometer custom shop?http://www.ampcustomshop.com/ you can make the face\letters\pointer just about anything you want...pretty cool stuff, I can sit there forever playin with different gauges lol. I don't even think the price is really all that awful for a full set of custom gauges but I suppose price is always a factor... man o man so cool lookin though.

I was on the fence about switching things around.....the sizes of gauges in a kit made it impossible and to buy seprerate and match wasn't happening. So I look at it every day and it's growing on me :D ...and it might find it's way into the dash soon for a "Mock up" as I'm far from done changing the configuration of the dash :hmm:

Very cool site, but still has the fitment issues and I can tell you.....that is a lot more than I paid for my gauges  Given what they do and the style of gauges doesn't seem outrageous, but more than I would spend :2cents:
