Hello,
I have a 1969 F250 crew cab that has a tired 360. I found a great deal on a 1970 Thunderjet 429 with a decent cam and manifold. Torque on these was absurd when stock so I can only guess it is a parts breaker now. I'm told I can use my flywheel and clutch from my 360. Is this true? Is it the proper way to do this or just happens to work? I already have a bell housing to fit the motor to my 4 speed. I still need the correct starter nose.
Thanks
Allen

Flywheel- 360 to 429 swap
Some people are a lot like a slinky. Generally useless, but fun to watch when you push them down the stairs.

Yes you can. But, you'll probably have to fabricate a bracket for the clutch pivot ball... and yes... you'll have to match your starter to the flywheel you use.
You could also spend some cash and order this and you can worry a little less about breaking stuff...

Re: Flywheel- 360 to 429 swap
That kit looks great. A bit out of my budget though. Other than the engine itself, I'm mostly using parts I find at the junk yards around the Portland area. I'll look into the clutch pivot issues. Thanks for the info.
