Glove box spring retainer

Post by 69Ford »

Does anybody know where I can pick up the spring retainer. For the spring that hold pressure on the glove box and latch. I can find the spring but no retainer. Just a little plastic piece
with two prongs. 69F100 Thanks

LOL..
I just finished stripping my cab today and broke one of the tabs off mine..
I think I have one from a parts truck, but if I don't I'll be watching this thread...
you would think we would be able to get the clip that breaks rather than the spring that last forever.. :hmm:

here we go- http://www.mcmaster.com/#push-rivets/=jjwa46
just need to match dimensions.
What I come up with is a hole diameter of .235
height from bottom of head to keeper fingers .410
head diameter .520
90136A583 looks to be the closest

That P/N is for "Glove Box Door Bumper" which goes on the upper right side of the opening

Convincor, sorry to disagree, but the rubber bumper on the right is p/n 353951-S (standard part)

They call the "retainer" a "bumper" in the MPC, but my information is correct.

In the page below from the MPC, I've circled the spring and retainer/bumper on the left, and the rubber bumper on the right.

I guess this is one time that DC made an error, based on the MPC...

Agreed.

I have to believe that the MPC is correct.

Hello, 69Ford:
By any chance have you found the Glove Box Spring Retainer that you were looking for? If so, might you pass on to me
the name of the vendor, if there is one?
Thanks

I got a bag of the ones from McMaster. There not as loose as the original, but if the hole is slightly enlarged they work.
I did find another source with a different size but haven't ordered yet.
