METAL DOOR PANEL
Hi Guys,
I'm restoring a 67 F-250 I bought at a swap meet 3 years ago.
It is missing the std driver side door panel.
I have scouted the local junk yards without any luck to date.
Any Ideas where or who to find one.
Thanks
Blase

Try posting an ad in the parts wanted section at the bottom of the main forums page.
If you wanted a '68 -72 std. panel, I could help you. The '67's are different, though.

Re: METAL DOOR PANEL
Yes I am interested.
I did not realize that the 67 panels were different from the 68-72 panels,
I assumed 67-72 doors would have the same basic sheet metal.
Do you know what years your panels will fit?
I will measure the one I have for the passenger side.

Re: METAL DOOR PANEL
The 67 has some unique features that were found only on that year of truck. One of the most unique features of all is the way the door latches and handles operate. The 67 is a one year only critter, I'm afraid, so only 67 panels will fit it. The entire door will interchange from 67-72, though.
About 3/4 of the way down this page is a discussion of the 67 door versus the 68-72 doors.

Re: METAL DOOR PANEL
Thanks for the education on 67 versa 68-72.
It looks like the choice I have is to ether acquire two 68-72 metal panels and modify one to a 67,
or go to after market plastic upgrade panels.
The later is simpler but more expensive.
Thanks again.

Re: METAL DOOR PANEL
You can't modify a 68 - 72 panel to fit a 67. It's not just the panel that's different. It's the locks. And the door lever. And the armrest. And the ...BLS2042 wrote:It looks like the choice I have is to ether acquire two 68-72 metal panels and modify one to a 67 ...
Like flyboy suggested, either get a 67 panel, or the entire door from a 68 - 72. Personally, I really dig the differences. Even though the unique items can be difficult to find, I really like the '67. Now if I could only find a '67 F100 SWB for next to nothing ...
