Aftermarket gauges in an F600 dash panel

Post by sargentrs »

So I finally got my F600 dash panel (Thanks, Wayne!). My plan was to put modern aftermarket gauges in the holes however, after disassembly, I realized the holes are not the right sizes for ANY aftermarket gauges I can find. For you guys who've actually done this before, what size gauges did you use and where did you get them from? Thanks!

Hey Randy, I had to use the stock F600 Speedo due to the large size of the hole, but I was able to put aftermarket gauges in the rest of the panel. I ran into the same problem as you, so I got creative and I am happy with the outcome. Here is what I did: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =6&t=59539

Thanks Rich. Got that bookmarked for when I get ready for it. The wiring will be a tremendous help. Unfortunately, mine has the stock vacuum gauge where your's had your tach and the hole has been totally cut out to around 4" on the inside. Too big for an aftermarket tach. Not sure what I'm going to do with that. I like what you did with the 4 small gauges and I'll steal that idea from you if you don't mind. My original plan was to put the tach on the left, speedo in the center and a quad gauge on the right. Then fill the 4 small one's with fuel pressure, engine oil temp, an EGT (pyrometer) and vacuum gauge. Now that I've discovered the hole's too big on the left, I may have to do something different. My goal being full engine diagnostics on the dash panel. I may leave the stock vacuum gauge where it's at, get a speedo/tach combo and still have the quad on the right. That'll still leave me with the small holes for the others.

Another option you might consider for that 4 inch opening where the vacuum gauge is currently located is to look at 4 inch gauges.. They have both tachometers and multi-gauges in that size and even bigger. Your style options are limited, but you can probably find something that will work for you if you want to go that route. Type in "4 inch tachometer" or "4 inch instrument gauge" in google and see what pops up. But I do know they make some gauges that size.
