9" internal cleaning

Hey guys,
I'm planning on taking the center section out of my 9" and giving the internals a good cleaning. Can anybody think of a reason why spraying brake cleaner or carburetor cleanor would damage anything inside, like a seal or anything?

I did the same thing to my dodge and it worked like a charm. Hit it hard, let it drain into a waste bin, then hit it some more. I used almost a whole can. Wear goggles and gloves, the cleaner will splatter all over the place and back into your face from hitting the gears in the differential.

Just don't want to damage a seal or anything since I'm not planning on taking the components apart. I learned the hard way by ruining an accelerator pump cup that rubber o-rings and solvents don't mix.
