Dent and bump?

Post by papaw »

I have been a Ford guy for over 40 years. I like both fordication.net and forication.com. Ford trucks are Ford trucks.always something to learn. But I guess it has been along day. What is a dent and bump? Thanks Ken

A bump is a 67-72 truck. It's identified by the beltline "bump". The same holds true for the 73 and up trucks. They have a "dent" in the beltline.

I am sorry to be a pain but inquiring minds want to know. Where is the beltline?

It is the bodyline right down the middle of the truck. Often there is chrome trim along it. The 67-72 "bumps" out, while the 73-79 "dents" in.
