68 f100 dash

Post by doughboy68 »

I am tearing into my truch interior this weekend and I take off the "newer" dash cover to find how bad the dash really was. It was HORRIBLE!! So I tore it all off and voila!! I think the dash has some really awesom curves and I am thinking about cleaning/painting maybe customizing a bit and leaving it w/o the dash cover.

Anyione else left it off... customized.... got pictures....thoughts....tips??

Just wondering how difficult it was to remove the original dash covering? I think I have the same situation: a $100 dash covering from LMC over an original cracked and mangled dash covering. But I didn't want to tear into it and find out it is impossible to get it off.
Thanks.

it was really easy.... old one ripped off in pieces, some big, some small. There is a bracket the pad is attached to on the front of the dash near the window, the whole length. Pad comes off real easy. It has bolts welded on, through the dash. They are a bit tricky to get to for a couple of them to unbolt. The front of the dash also has two small brackets on each corner and a samller one, 2-3 bolts over the guages and radio area. I think it looks good... Painting it today, will post up when done!!
