Is it possible to bend a axle in a Dana 60

Ever since I put the limited slip rear end from the 71 parts truck in my 66 there has been a vibration in the rear of the truck,I also put the rear tires and rims on and did change the rims when I painted the truck but the vibration is still there. I am going to have all four tires spin balanced first and see what happens but if its the rear end it going to definately change it over to a half ton.

I am assuming you did the tooth contact check for the ring amd pinion? Did you check your ujoints health? I don't think bending is very common, not impossible though.

I had new 3.54 gears installed before putting it in,never driven the parts truck so I did not know anything about it. I am going to get the tires balanced first.

Did you install the gears yourself or have someone reputable do it? It sounds like you had the new gears installed in the parts truck you talk about and then installed the entire rear differential in the truck, is that correct?

I had the gears installed and took the rear end from the parts truck to get the new gears installed before installing in the good truck,I wish now that I would have tried it before having the gears installed.

Have you verified the driveline angles?
