Guys I'm struggling to find a tranny control arm bush for my 72, can anyone help with where to find one or the correct part number as LMC don't show it on their parts drawing and the only number on the parts list on this site gives the number 7341 which relates to a few parts. What makes this more difficult is that I am in Scotland so can't just pop to my ford dealer! Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Davie.

Oh, sorry, Davektm-- just realized your part is a shift column-related item (?)
Perhaps someone else will chime in with better info for you.

Not sure exactly which part you're talking about. Can you check this build thread and pick out which it is? http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=72274 Also, these guys carry a lot of steering column parts and are great to work with http://www.carolina-classics.com/Result ... mit=Search

Re: Auto tranny control arm bush
Are we talking about the plastic bushing/retainer for the linkage?

It's the rubber bush on the lever at the bottom of the column, the rod from the tranny sits in the bush

Can anyone help with this? I have two bushes I have ordered so far and both are wrong! Surely this isn't an uncommon part???
Duckryder, I have the exact same truck as you with the same tranny and motor

Re: Auto tranny control arm bush
The linkage bushings you buy aftermarket are close but not a perfect fit. I really struggled installing them in mine. They are a harder rubber and seem to be a little thick. I had to use the bench grinder on the brass insert to shave off a little from the end then use vise grips to squeeze the linkage rod into the bushing and compress the rubber so that the groove in the rod would be visible on the other side to get the clip in place. I considered drilling a hole through the rod and just using a washer and hair pin clip but finally got it installed with the clip. It was a real PITA.

Try:
https://www.npdlink.com/store/catalog/F ... 593-3.html
I believe the correct one is "Ford Truck BUSHING AND INSULATOR KIT, TRANSMISSION SELECTOR ARM
F-7343-2A"
Here in the US there is a line carried in auto parts stores called "Help" and is manufactured by Motormite/Dorman (Dorman Products) and I am pretty sure that is what I used, but it has been quite sometime.
