Help Needed to ID Part on Rear Hub

Post by colnago »

All,

I have a '67 F250 2WD with a Dana 60 rear axle, 4.11 gear ratio (I verified this morning that it's a Dana 60, by checking the casting). I pulled the hubs off last week to replace the brake shoes. The diameter of the axle seems to be smaller than "typical," though, because I needed a 2-3/16" socket to work on it, instead of a 2-9/16". I bought new lock washers for the hub nuts, but found that they were too big, too. So, I reused the original lock washers, but I need to check something on one side. I would rather not reuse the original lock washers again, but I can't find a replacement.

All of the auto shops refer to the larger washer (inner diameter of around 2"), but I think (although I'm not sure) it has an inner diameter of around 1.8". Mac's Antique Auto Parts may have what I need, but that catalog says it's for a '38 - '47 Ford.

Any ideas? Any web sites with part numbers? I can't find anything with google, and none of the auto shops around here can help me.

Thanks,

Joseph

Well, I think I have chased down some info on my mystery lock washer.

"There are two different sized nuts, two different sized lock washers. It depends on the F250's serial number (last 6 digits of the VIN)

2) 61-1124 .. Lock Washer #37 (1 per side) / 1 27/32" I.D. / 2 3/4" O.D.

4) 61-4252 .. Rear Wheel Bearing Lock Nut #36 (2 per side) / 1 13/16" thread / 2.38" hex.

Applications: 1948/F2 & 1953/68 F250 / 1969 F250 before serial number F30,001.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2) B6Y-1124-A .. Lock Washer #37 (1 per side) / 2 1/32" I.D. / 2 15/16" O.D.
4) B6Y-4252-A .. Rear Wheel Bearing Lock Nut #36 (2 per side) / 2.00" -16 thread - 2.56" hex.
Applications: 1969 F250 from serial number F30,001 / 1970/86 F250."
With this info, I was able to find it sync up with Spicer part number DQS-30637, or Yukon YSPSP-004. I can find the Spicer washers on various 4x4 web sites. Still can't find a match at any of the local auto shops, but at least I can still order them.
Try a Diesel or heavy equipment service center.
