kick down on a c6

Post by Bama Boy »

the c6 in my 68 came from a 74 wagon. I didnt set it up so I am not sure which way the lever goes to kick down the trany. The old set up had a rod that no longer fits btwn the motor and fire wall. I bought a lokar set up and followed the directions but I cant figure out if it is supposed to push or pull the lever. Any help would be great.

Should be pushing down on the lever.

here is a gallery for a guy that has done alot of stuff to his truck and I enjoy following his progress. He has a cable setup like your putting on with a couple pics. http://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gallery ... umid=11660

I tried to do the same thing on my lever by fliping it 180. The problem came when I shfted into anything below Drive it woudl hit the lever and kick down the tranny. So what I think I might do is mount the set up in front of the lever somehow. Maybe next weekend. thanks for the pix. It is just like mine sortof. :hmm:
