Rear Axle Swap

I recently acquired a 97 Ranger..2.3 with 5 speed and 3.42 gears... I changed the tires to 225/18 and need to change axle ratio..

Will a 99 ranger rear axle fit my 97?? changing to 4.10 ratio

No idea if the 97 and 99 axles are the same. This is primarily a 67-72 F-series board. You probably won't find much tech on 7.5/8.8 housings here.
