Truck wont Roll in Neutral

Did this am. Went to push it back into garage. Shift lever into neutral and no go...like in park all around.

is it really in neutral? meaning like the shifter linkage is still hooked up and correct? parking brake off? brakes dragging? if its been off the road for while ive even seen wheel bearings get stiff.

hiboy beat me to it. I bet the shift linkage isn't connected, and the tranny is still in Park, with the parking pawl engaged. You can either reconnect (which is infinitely safer), or just crawl under the truck and pull the shift lever down on the side of the tranny to disengage (but IF you do this, MAKE SURE someone is in the cab with the BRAKES ON (the main brakes, not just the parking brake); I don't want to read about you in the obituary column tomorrow).

I never did find out what happened. I ended up calling a tow truck to pick up the back end and put out in my drive way. I had carb off the truck to get it cleaned and repaired and truck bed stuck out too far to close overhead door.

Once I had the truck back to gether and stared no problem.
