Just picked up a 1969 f250, new to these trucks so I'm sure I'll have lots of questions. First of all, why are they called bump trucks?

Thats an ongoing question.
Someone in the recent past thought it was a cute nickname for this truck because of the bumped out side ridge in the sheetmetal of the body. That nickname has stuck.
