Non adjustable rocker arms...FE 390

Post by 67mann »

:hmm: I tried to search but, got nowhere

Not looking for opinions on what's best.... I've got what I got and plan on using them. :? :? I've watched you tube and read different material on setting them but, they don't coincide with each other. What is the Proper way to install :? :? What position should the motor be to start the sequence of tightening the bolts. One says to just to evenly tighten as not to bend shaft(no mention of where the motor is) and others say 45 degrees past TDC. They're non-adjustable..... this shouldn't be so frustraighting :help:

There is a particular position, I’ll try to get it for you if no one else has it. (all my books ar packed up)

Tighten them evenly a turn or so at a time, remember two of the bolts are different and correspond to the oiling passage in the head.

Yep I've got the two bolts in place for the oiling. Seems to me that 2 of the cylinders are at the same position or something like that :hmm: :? :? . My buddy did it the first time but, didn't really explain. If you can find it that would be great Robert.... thx for the reply jerry

45 degrees past TDC with number one on compression stroke.

May be marked damper of pulley with XX.

Approx 2” from TDC

No valve should be at max lift.

If I recall correctly, there are 3 different length push rods.
To long and you can burn a valve.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't correct you but, know that these belong to my motor or have been already sized to work with my motor. Long story short... motor was built(never fired), truck(project) went in storage(4yrs) and is now in my shop and I pulled the Top apart to inspect my investment
