In Cab Tank

So I want to pull out the in cab tank and also the aux tank, but not together. What is the secret to pulling out the in cab tank. At a quick glance, looks like the bolts I need to access are up against the bed. Do I also need to remove the seat? Anyone who has done this, can you provide advice, tips, tricks, pictures? Thanks Pat

It's been a couple of years since I've done it, so I don't have a ton of specifics, but the in-cab tank is pretty straightforward; just disconnect the filler hose, fuel line, sending unit, and vent lines (if you've got them), then remove the bolts holding the tank to the cab and pull it out. I'm pretty sure all the bolts can be accessed from inside the cab. Taking the seat out is useful and not terribly difficult, especially if you've got a helper.
Afraid I can't be of much assistance for the auxiliary tank

Thank you. The aux tank seems to be a bit easier to get out. But when I took a quick glance Sunday it looked like the heads faced the bed and the nuts were inside the cab. I probably won't have a helper, but I think I will end up taking the seat out that way I can also figure out why it isn't adjusting and this also gives me an opportunity to add insulation/sound deadener and maybe replace the carpet.

The in cab tank originally used carriage bolts from the outside of the cab through the cab and the tank and then locknuts on the inside at the top of the tank. On the bottom there are 2 brackets, toward the outside ends of the tank, that capture the flange and hold it to the floor with bolts. Unless I'm mistaken, I believe they were actually installed with the cab mounting bolts?

If I remember right, you need to get that frame rail along with all the other parts... if your using the Aux. tank as a replacement

Here's some pix of (about half way down pg.)mine in the frame and the rail you will need, is the one ahead of the rear cab mount rail.

I pretty sure those are only in the trucks with that option
