Clutch fan

Sorry probably been discussed 100s of time but to lazy to search. Would a clutch fan help cooling my truck off at idle/ sitting in traffic better than a standard fan? Truck does fine driving down road but when it’s sitting at a light the temp starts to climb rapidly.

I put one on my 74 F250 a few years age. At idle, the same as a stock fan. A lot quieter on the highway and the same cooling.
Results may be different if your way south in a very hot zone. I like mine here in the mid west.

Do you have a fan shroud ? they help a lot.
Old radiators can lose efficiency too.

As I understand it, the clutch will not add any cooling, it only reduces drag when not needed, however a fan with a clutch will usually have more blades, which could help. As stated, think about a shroud, but also a very thorough flush. I once took all the frost plugs out and got right in there with the pressure washer, screwdrivers, coat hangers, anything I could to scrape the crud out, it made a big difference.
