How's this for a way to install the radio? It works, I guess. When I get the truck painted sometime down the road, I'll either have this painted too, or I'll have a similar sized piece made with flushed stainless screws and a mirror finish.
Oh, and note the two toggle switches. Those operate my blower motor and heat. Nice.

Looks good to me , I wouldn't change a thing. Neat, tidy and it's in there

Yeah, it really doesn't bother me too much. I wish it hadn't been done, but on the positive side my decision has been made for me about what to do with the radio. haha! I think if I get this polished up and the stainless screws that will sink flush with the plate, it'll look good.
The heater controls bother me more... that's just lazy. They work, but I want to try and get the original operability restored.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.
Well my dash is perfect till I cut it up for a cd player and weld up the heater control hole and ashtray holes. Whatever works for you and you like it is all that matters. Just a little polish and some counter sunk screws like you said and it will be clean looking.

I wasnt bashing, please dont misunderstand. I'm more for look that purity anyway. And that install is clean. I had to butcher my dash on my 81 c10, but i feel that it turned out good. I had to have a cd player in that thing. Now my ford, its to original for me to dare change anything. 10 disk changer hidden, and i'm happy. But anyhow, I like it
