I am the owner of an 1969 F-100 pickup, 3 speed on the column. My question is if somebody knows exactly where can I find the backup lights switch? I was undressed completely the column but the switch is not there..!
(...and of course I don't speak english very well... )
i have a 68 w/3 speed on col. it is located under the hood by the shift linkage. there is a strap with a button [switch] on it with 2 wires. mine the wires are black with a orange tracer or maybe red tracer.when you put it in reverse it closes the switch.
Here's what the end of your steering column should look like:
At the very least you should still have the bracket there....it's not removable. Well, it's not EASILY removable, anyway.

Hummmm... in fact the column seems like new, it means that the bracket never was there. I will try to take a picture but someone knows how can I paste a picture in this forum? copy/paste action is enough ??
Carlos, if you have your pictures in your documents file you can just click on Add an attachment at the bottom of this window. Then click on Browse which should take you to your Pictures file where you choose the picture you want, click open and that should do it. If you use a picture hosting website like Webshots (I use Photobucket) I think you can load the picture to come up in your post without the reader even needing to open the attachment.
By the way, welcome here and don't worry about your english, you are doing fine, although the part about you being undressed completely was kind of amusing. I kind of got a mental image of a nude guy working on his steering column, but I knew what you meant.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
JE JE JE .....It could be worst....anyway, nobody is perfect
Please find attached the shots of my column..by the way...I speak english better than I take pictures...sorry.
