Fuel Problem

My truck was dying out on me cutting out them going again then it finally just died on me, pulled off the fuel line at the filter and it was bone dry, the fuel pump??? Thats my best guess if so is it an easy job to replace??? Thanks

If the filter is okay then that would be my guess. It isn't hard to replace at all, if I remember right it only took a few minutes in my '73.

Pull the fuel line off the carb and put it in a glass container. Hit the starter a couple of times and if there is no gas in the glass you'll know for sure that the carb isn't getting any gas.

do you have fuel to the pump? if you do then its could be the pump or filter inside the can. if you dont then you might have a clogged line. to unclog a line you blow air back from the fuel pump line to the tank. that could clear the clog.
