Manual to Automatic Hubs

I know I know, 90% of the people out there are converting FROM auto to manual hubs.

I however do very little 4x4'in, but when I do it'd be nice to have auto hubs instead of having to get out and lock them in.

Does anyone know whats out there as far as good, solid, durable auto hubs? Anyone tried them?

Auto hubs are OK if you're in an intermittent situation where you need 4WD. Generally, because of their design, they won't handle as much torque as manual hubs.

I ran them on a couple of my rigs in the past, a '65 F250 4X4 and a '79 CJ5. No problems except for one time on the Rubicon in the CJ . . . Low gear/Low case on granite was a bit much.

Are they even available anymore?

You can run the stock 80's/90's Ford auto hubs if you have either the weeny 1/2 ton hubs or the internal 50/60 hubs.
