ignition switch plug
Does anyone know were I can get the ignition switch plug with enough wire on it to splice back into my wire harness it needs to be one to fit a 69 . I got one out of a 71 but it is not the same any help needed. THANKS

No, it won't.
This s a side-by-side comparison of the three different ignition switch styles used in Ford pickups during the '67-'72 era. On the left is the '67-only switch, which utilized a single hot stud which protruded through the push-on connector, which in turn was held on with a small nut. In the middle is an example of a '68-'70 ignition switch, in which the harness connector was pushed onto bullet-style connections. The '71-'72 version on the right, introduced in mid-'70, utilized a similar style but used spade-type connectors.

I'm not "Brand Loyal" Ford-Chevy-Dodge-Toyota I have them all, one even cross mixed...
If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

I got mine at Schucks for $17.99. They actually had two types on the shelf. Of course I live in a rural/farming area where a lot of the farmers around here still have a lot of old Fords.

Also try auto zone. My 70 had the newer style. As last resort lmc will have a remake.

Why not just replace the ignition switch and change out the tumblers so your same key works? That is what I did when I changed out my harness.

I am going to use the same switch and key I need the plug and wiring(plug and pigtail) to splice into my harness.So I can plug it in my switch.

Do you just want to use the same key because it works the doors as well? If the wiring harness is not already hacked up you can get an ignition switch compatible with your wiring harness and just replaces the tumblers. Using the key and a straight pin you can remove the tumbler assembly and exchange it into a switch compatible with your harness. A lot easier than cutting and splicing if you do not have to.

- stick the end of a paper clip into the tiny hole in the face of the lock cylinder to release it and then,
- turn the key counterclockwise and pull the key and lock assembly out of the switch. The whole lock barrel will pull right out.
Installation is opposite of removal.
WARNING: Disconnect the battery before doing this.
